State Fair of Texas!

After we got home from Katie's wedding thankfully the girls had Monday off from school so we could recover a little more from being up so late. We talked about going to the State Fair of Texas....Ella wanted to go see Big Tex!  We ended up going on Friday when we girls had a 1/2 day and got out early.  The bad thing was it rain the whole time we were there!  The girls and I headed down to meet Alston at work.  We went up to his office and said hello to everyone he works with and then headed down to the train that run through his building.  It took a little longer than expected but we finally made it to the Fair.  Alston and I have been but we had never taken the girls.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate but we made the most of it! We saw Big Tex, rode the ferris wheel, the girls rode a few rides, we saw and fed some animals, Alston and I ate a Fletchers corny dog, ran into friends and we played some games and they won some stuffed animal!  Overall a successful trip!  Might have to go back next year if the weather is better!
