Charleston Trip 2016 Part 1

This years Charleston trip, as usual, didn't disappoint!  We left on Saturday, July 2nd and the girls and I stayed until July 16th!  We had a little bit of a rough time going, I didn't feel great and Callie threw up on the way to the airport and on the plane as we landed! but thankfully that was the worst of it and we were both on the mend after that! Tiffany was there when we got there on Saturday and left on Sunday, we were glad we got to visit with her for a little while!  The first day we were there the girls of course wanted to swim and we all went to dinner.

Sunday Alston and Travis played golf and we hung out around the house and Ella helped Doo Da water his plants! Alston, Trav and I headed to Shem Creek to hang out for the night.

Monday was the 4th and we had planned to grill out and hang around the pool...the boys had a rib cook-off and unfortunately no one won (no one has mastered cooking ribs)!  Alston and Travis' friend Jared and his son Ollie came to hang out too! Callie was worn out from being sick...she took a LONG nap!  Poor baby! It was a fun and relaxing 4th!

Tuesday morning we headed to the beach for the first time of the trip!  The girls loved digging in the sand...weren't into getting in the ocean yet....but as the week continued they got braver and braver! After the beach, Alston and I took the girls to eat and get ice cream at Ye Old Fashion!

Wednesday, Alston and Travis played golf and I met Emily for lunch! The girls, Debbie and I went to check out the neighborhood dock and then Emily came over and hung out with the girls for a little while! It was great to see her and catch up!

Thursday we headed up to Litchfield Beach (about an hour away from Charleston).  Debbie's brother, Jimmy was up there with his wife, Carolyn's family (lots and lots of family...they had about 40-50 people up there staying in 3 houses!) Alston's cousins Zack and Josh were there and their 6 kids so we all went swimming at one of the houses.  It was fun to see family and some of the girls 2nd cousins!  The girls LOVED hearing the story of Goldie Locks from Jimmy before we left!

Friday morning the guys headed out to play golf at Seabrook (about an hour from Charleston) and Debbie, me and the girls headed out to Seabrook to ride ponies!  The girls each rode "George" the pony for a little while and then we went to lunch before heading back to Charleston! The girls had a good time riding George!

After being in the car for 2 days in a row we decided not to plan too much for Saturday.  We hung around the house, made popsicles, went crabbing (put a crab trap out and checked it a few times) and then had pictures made on the beach (another post on those!)!

Sunday, Alston wanted to go to the beach one more time before he left to head back home.  The girls ended up LOVING the water and really never wanted to get out!  They also buried Doo Da in the sand! Sunday afternoon Callie and I went downtown to see Lori and Mallory Kate for a minute, who were in town for a dance competition!

What a great first week in Charleston!!
