Summer Charleston Trip Part 2!

After the 4th and being in the sun all day...we tried to take a break from the sun for a few days. Wednesday, Mammy and I took the girls to the aquarium.  We had heard that they had recently added a sea turtle rescue portion to the aquarium and we wanted to check it out!  While we explored the aquarium we saw lots of different fish, big and small and then ended the day by learning more about the sea turtles!  They also had lots of things made out of legos through out the museum!  Girls had a great time and now I think Ella wants to rescue turtles! :-)

Made of legos!

Shark mouth made of legos!

We love turtles!

Petting sharks and starfish

Measuring up to a sea turtle

After the aquarium we met Doo Da and Travis for dinner out on the water.  The girls loved hoola-hooping after dinner!

Thursday, John and Debbie took the girls to Sky Zone to jump on the trampolines and then Debbie took them to get their toes painted!  That evening Travis thought it would be fun to walk to new dock that was built on Shem Creek so we met him out there.  It was really fun to see crabs on the dock and we even saw a manatee!....which none of us had ever seen there (usually you see dolphin and pelicans)!

Love the bridge in the background!

Bubbles on the dock!

Shem creek!

Uncle Tbone!

Silly girl!

Alston has a friend from highschool (that also used to be their neighbor growing up) that recently moved out into the country and owns a lot of horses.  The crazy part is, she was diagnosed with T1 diabetes a few years ago!  So Friday we headed out to see her and the horses!  She was so sweet and let the girls bathe a pony and brush another one and we got to meet all horses (one was even named Ella Enchanted!).

Meeting Little Dude!

Bathing Sadie

Feeding Sadie treats!

Brushing Little Dude

Ella Enchanted!  Love the name!

Meeting the other horses, Paris and Juliet

Sweet Travis had bought the girls a tie-dying kit with shirt that the girls could tie-dye so that evening he helped the girls do their shirts!  So cute!  They loved it and they turned out great!

All set to tie-dye!

Turned out great!

Thank you Uncle Tbone for our kit and shirts!  So much fun!

We headed to Ye Ole Fashioned for dinner and ice cream for the girls! Well....Callie is the only one who ate her dinner that night so she is the only one who got ice cream :-)

Saturday, our last full day...Mammy and I braved it and took the girls to the beach by ourselves.  Poor Doo Da was in bed sick so it was just us girls!  Mammy wanted us to take a picture of the set up so we could say we did it by ourselves and I have to say we did a good job!  Ha!  The girls loved building sand castles again and couldn't stay out of the water...riding the waves with their kick boards!

Sunday before we flew out the girls went swimming one more time with Mammy and Uncle Travis.

As always our Charleston trip never disappoints...always my favorite trip to look forward to every summer.  Until next year....
